Hypercube² Part I 40mm fans[/center]

40mm FANS

Time to look at the rear fans: they will exhaust the air out of the case. I choose the Blue Ice chipset coolers from Coolermaster because they have a transparent 40mm fan on the heatsink. They are also lit with blue LEDs, but I\'ll get to this later, because I want to change them to white.

The 4 chipset coolers from Coolermaster. As I mentioned, I\'m only going to use the fans because they are 40mm and transparent.

Because I didn\'t have these fans when I was designing my case, I had to guess where the holes would be - my sidepanels were already at the lasercutter when I got these fans. Unfortunately, it appears I was off by 2mm. The solution to this problem is enlarging the mounting holes on the fans.

Now they fit OK. These fans are exhaust fans, meaning that the underside of the fan is visible. This is obviously something I don\'t want visible and it needs a solution. How about tracing the wires out of the case and finishing it off with some cable sleeving?

Two washers, one with a small gap cut out, then glued together

The finished sleeving. Now its time to put it on the fan.

Because of the gap in the upper washer, the wiring has a place to go and the sleeving can be glued on to the fan.

Later I will come back on this and explain how the sleeving goes to the inside of the case.
